From what I understand there is less sugar in the baby yogurt... I just buy plain regular yogurt

There is less sugar and it is organic, meaning that there are no hormones and peticides in it.
The hormones that they put in non-organic milk get absorbed into your DC blood stream. Thus, if you have a little girl she may "blossom" at age 8 or 9 instead of 12 or 13 (from the extra hormones in her system). Little boys may "blossom" earlier too, but I just researched its effects on girls. I know it is pricey, but it can really effect the health of your child, IMHO.
Research it and do what is best for you and your family. HTH

My ped said the fat content was very important. I would get the highest fat (whole milk) regular yogurt.

Its hard to find other yogurt that uses whole milk - especially if you are interested in organic also.

Yup! My pediatrician recommended just plain regular yogurt, or vanilla...so I got Dannon. They have the big containers too so you don't have to buy a bunch of little ones. I get both, I can't seem to find the regular (non-lowfat) in the Vanilla in the big size.

I would stick with something like total greek yogurt, its full fat and has no sugar. Its lovely and thick also so it sticks to those little spoons....
Be very careful of artificial sweetners in those yogurts!

Not saying there isn't some merit to what you stated....but I honestly don't buy that giving your kid regular yogurt will do this. I mean, we all grew up eating these things! I have a hard time believing that if i fed my baby reg yogurt it was cause early puberty..don't you think this would be a huge controversy and products to be taken off the market???
Maybe if one were to consume nothing but food with hormones in them 24/7 for years there would be a link...I just don't know

This is what I was going to say as well. I know I had a hard time finding yogurt that wasn't "light" -- containing Nutrasweet as a sweetener. I would think if you just use plain, and maybe add your own fruit if you want some flavor, you should be fine.

The hormones weren't used when we were little -- they were approved by the FDA in 1993. So, I guess the issue now is that no one really knows the long term impact.

EXACTLY. You have no idea exactly what these farmers are pumping into the dairy and meat cows on a daily basis, and I find no coincidence that children are entering puberty at alarmingly early ages in the last decade or so.
Either way, I recommend Stonyfield Farms Organic Plain yogurt - it doesn't have any added sugar, and you can get it in a huge container, and just add mashed bananas, applesauce or whatever fruit your baby likes. We've been giving this to Alex since she's a year old - now she actually likes to put her cheerios in it

We buy the stoneyfied yogurt also in addition to the yo-baby. Both kids eat it up for lunch everyday!
